Commercial Tenant Improvement
Construction Completed 2012
Sherman Oaks, CA

The goal of this tenant improvement in a mixed use building was to create a facility that felt both elegant and clean, but not antiseptic. Looking to the iceberg for inspiration, the design aesthetic includes subtly canted forms and an icy materials palette of glass, white marble, terrazzo, caesarstone, and iridescent tile. Sculpted composite wood panel ripples and shimmers on the accent wall, and behind the glass-shelved product display cases. The sculpted hallway is an icy canyon with glowing display boxes embedded in an iridescent tile wall, leading past the treatment rooms to the Lounge at the rear of the space. The clients complete their journey in the Lounge, where they rest rejuvenated after their treatments. As a warm counterpoint to the icy quality of the rest of the facility, the raised platform of wood with soft leathery furnishings and open shelving creates a comforting transition to the real world.
