For many years now, we have considered designing a bench outside our office as a place for our employees hang out during lunch, but also for the neighborhood foot traffic who sometimes enjoy sitting on our steps. We also saw a fun opportunity to incorporate our address (which isn’t visible unless our garage door is open).

The design utilizes steel tubes that act as a single extrusion from the building, winding around the panels to create support. 3form resin was used for transparency, allowing the steel structure to always be visible.

If you’re in the neighborhood enjoying Wax Paper Co., come check it out. There’s a small built-in side table for quick eats under the shade of the Palo Verde trees.

This project was led by our junior designer, Jackson. It has become our informal tradition that each junior designer lead an internal office project to gain hands on construction admin experience. Everyone say good job Jackson!!
