About

Tracy A. Stone Architect is a full-service architecture firm based in Los Angeles. We’re a small office with a big passion for California modern design that’s warm and intentional.

Since 1991, our office has specialized in designing spaces that balance clean, contemporary lines with the kind of comfort and character that makes a house feel like a home. Every project is a personal collaboration, grounded in in our belief that good design evolves from strong dialogue between client and architect. Most of our 30+ years experience features custom California homes, mid-century and historic restoration, custom interiors, and commercial spaces.

Born as a byproduct of the biennial Frogtown Artwalk, the TAS Gallery operates out of the office of Tracy A. Stone Architect, exhibiting work that is often allied with the Los Angeles River.

Hours: The gallery opens for the Frogtown Artwalk, and in the month following. Hours at these times are: Monday – Friday 9am-6pm, Saturday by appointment only.

The artwalk is organized by the Elysian Valley Arts Collective, a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization.

Frogtown Artwalk

In 2003, Tracy A. Stone Architect moved into our current office located in Elysian Valley. It took us a few years to settle in but when we did, we decided an “Office Warming Party” was in order. And while we knew we could show off our work, we thought we asked a friend how to make the party more entertaining for those outside the field of architecture.

Her response? “Nobody wants to come to an architect’s office — that’s boring!”

So, with a little charm and charisma, we convinced a couple of local artists that it would be fun to host a small artwalk. That first year, 2006, we had 10 artists/spaces participate in what amounted to a glorified Office Party/Block Party.
In 2018, the Frogtown Artwork included more than 50 artists, 40 venues, 3 official stages with bands, a literary lounge, a dance exhibit and an interactive light installation stretching a half-mile along the river.
